Fireside Chat with Lockheed Martin Ventures, Featuring Ryan Hatcher

Dr. Ryan Hatcher serves as Principal Scientist at Lockheed Martin, a global security and aerospace company that employs approximately 110,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. 

Ryan received his B.A. and M.S. degrees in physics from Wake Forest University, an M.S. in computer science from Vanderbilt University and a Ph.D. in physics from Vanderbilt University. 

In 2007, he joined Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Technology Laboratories, where he drove a broad portfolio of research programs in advanced sensors and electronics. In 2013, he joined Samsung’s Advanced Logic Laboratory as Principal Scientist, where he focused on advanced logic technologies, before pivoting back to Lockheed in 2019 to serve as a technology scout in the Chief Technology Officer’s organization. Ryan focuses on identifying companies who have technologies that align with strategically important technical gaps.
